CTICC Experience


Venues

Located in the hub of the city’s beautiful northern foreshore, the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) is a cosmopolitan showcase where ideas and cultures from around the globe are able to meet and mingle against the stunning backdrop of Table Mountain. World-class standards and specifications mean that the CTICC is not only designed to meet any conference or event expectation, but also ensures the experience as a whole is an unforgettable one.

Gallery

A three-storey gallery spans the entire length of the CTICC, linking venues in a smooth, cohesive manner and enhancing flow to provide visitors with easy and, therefore, more enjoyable circulation.

Auditoria

Two auditoria with superb acoustics, top-of-the-range technology, and ergonomical design seats featuring writing tablets, provide ideal venues for large formal gatherings, lectures, awards evenings or even theatre productions.

Auditorium I

Equipped with a stage and screen, six translation booths, an orchestra pit and projection room, Auditorium I seats up to 1 500 guests or delegates. It boasts adjacent VIP suites and dressing rooms, a spacious foyer for registration, refreshments or exhibitions, as well a dedicated exterior smoking terrace.

Capacity: 1500, Length: 47m, Width: Splayed

Auditorium II

With seating capacity for up to 620 guests or delegates, this auditorium comes equipped with stage, screen, six translation booths and a projection room. Located off the Strelitzia conservatory (ideal for registration or pre-event cocktails), Auditorium II can be accessed from Level 1 of the centre, which also offers ideal delegate registration space.

Exhibition and Trade Show Space

With 11 200m² of dedicated, column-free space, the Cape Town International Convention Centre provides the perfect venue for any exhibition or trade show.
  • Exhibition halls are sub-divisible and can be tailored to meet any and every need – configuring into separate venues for smaller exhibitions, banquets or conferences with ease.
  • Access to power, water and data connections is available every 4.5 metre grids.
  • Ceiling height spans between 10 and 18 metres, and both ceiling and floor have been designed to accommodate heavy industrial or commercial exhibits – up to 3 000 kg per m².
  • Large moveable doors provide convenient access to the adjacent 5 000 m² marshalling yard for more efficient exhibition build-up and breakdown times.

Grand Ballroom

Offering majestic views over the spectacular city to Table Mountain, the 2 000m² Grand Ballroom has the ability to turn any event into a lavish and unforgettable experience.

The entrance foyer provides guests with unique views of Cape Town harbour, the Roggebaai Canal and Convention Square, while inside, the Grand Ballroom’s aesthetic design allows for natural light enhancement, with automated vertical blinds that facilitate total blackout if required.

Two satellite kitchens, situated on either side, service the room, whilst a lounge and smoking terrace lead off the main gallery.

The Grand Ballroom can also be divided into a 60-40 split by means of convenient soundproof partitioning.

The Roof Terrace Room

Elevated and elegant, the Roof Terrace Room on Level 2 combines spectacular views of Table Mountain with an open, flexible space.

The venue enjoys enhanced natural lighting from three sides of the room, with motorised blinds for blackout.

The Roof Terrace Room also includes a dedicated interior and exterior terrace for flexible use of this popular venue.

Meeting Rooms

Spacious and sub-divisible, meeting rooms of varying sizes, each accommodating up to 330 delegates, can be set up to suit a variety of functions or presentations.

Meeting Suites

Thirteen distinguished Meeting Suites, varying in size, overlook the Exhibition Halls and are equipped to comfortably accommodate up to 24 guests each.

Conservatories and Landings

A diverse number of equally stylish conservatories and landings complement any event. Two multi-functional dining areas, the Strelitzia and Jasminum, are both accessible from a number of venues and exhibition halls, and are situated adjacent to the Clivia, Strelitzia and Jasminum conservatories.

Bathed in natural light and surrounded by indigenous flora, these spacious conservatories provide a relaxing, less formal setting for anything from exhibits, cocktails and light lunches to simply enjoying a moment of quiet reflection during the course of a busy conference schedule.

Registration Foyer

Ideally located off the main foyer on the ground floor, the Registration Foyer has been designed to facilitate the efficient registration of delegates. Spacious and flexible, the foyer can be adapted to suit the specific needs of organisers.

Capacity: 300 (Theatre Style), 200 (Classroom Style), Length: 21m, Width: 15m


Main Foyer

The CTICC’s main foyer leads off Convention Square – a grand piazza that overlooks Roggebaai Canal and the Westin Grand Hotel, and conveniently links Cape Town's inner city road network to the centre's walkways and parking areas.

Artworks

Bold, distinctive artworks expressive of African and Cape essences punctuate the CTICC’s interior – ensuring the centre is not only technologically sophisticated, but aesthetically pleasing as well.

Kitchen Facility

Boasting one of the largest, most advanced kitchen facilities in all of the Western Cape, the CTICC’s kitchen is also staffed by internationally-trained personnel, and is linked to seven satellite kitchens located strategically around the centre to ensure the timeous delivery of hot, fresh and delicious meals. In addition the kitchen’s uncompromising quality menus cater for any budget and any amount of people.
