An exhibition for suppliers to oil refineries, petrochemical plants, oil and gas installations and pipelines. The South African Oil & Gas Alliance is pleased to receive the announcement of the fourth iteration of this event which once again will front up to the challenges faced by the sub-Saharan & African Oil & Gas markets in these uncertain times. As a member on the organising committee we look forward to co-operating with the staging of a number of concurrent networking events and assisting with structuring the Conference Programmes to meet the needs of our Members and both regional and international participants. It was interesting to note that some 10 000 visitors, 800 delegates and over 500 exhibitors have participated in the previous three events and we look forward to building on this solid foundation to continue the development of the Western Cape & South African Oil, Gas & Energy Industries and strengthening its international ties. We confirm our support for this initiative and look forward to meeting many new international participants and welcoming them to the Mother City of South Africa as well as those who have been working with us before and not forgetting our regionally-based colleagues, clients and suppliers. The continents one and only Fishing Industry Exhibition and total Fish Show - Fish Africa - is undergoing a revamp after thirteen successful years as a stand-alone event. The fortunes of the traditional suppliers of equipment to Africa's fishing fleets have been given a boost by the emergence, and growing importance of the West African Coast's Offshore Oil and Gas Operations. Given the decidedly "offshore" nature of this business there is a growing convergence of supply lines to both industries. The common denomination is of course the "Maritime" aspect of the two industries - boats, engines, ropes, radios, safety equipment and everything else that goes "to the sea". As Organisers of both Fish Africa and Oil & Gas Africa (6 months later) it made no sense to continue running two completely separate events targeting virtually the same suppliers; splitting their budgets or making them choose one event over the other. We have therefore decided to rename the event - Fish & Marine Africa, and co-locate the exhibition alongside our 2010 Oil & Gas Africa expo at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in March next year. By introducing Maritime into the show title we want to emphasis that this event now does more than just serve the commercial Fishing Industries of Africa. We believe that this dual reach into two target markets will give exhibitors better value, save them costs and manpower by only having to service one event and making for a bigger and better experience for visitors.
