What makes a dancer brilliant, famous and successful? Is it true that a dancer is born? Does it depend on where, when and how long you train?
Diary of a Dancer is a brilliant dance/drama that delves into the heart and mind of a young boy who lives in a gangland and cannot realise his dream of becoming a dancer.until he refuses to live the lie and steps out to claim his destiny.
A cast of 60 exceptionally talented dancers perform a variety of dance styles, including African jazz, hip hop, contemporary, ballet funk, cabaret, kwaito, salsa,, krumping and freestyle.
The lead role is played by a 16 yr old high school student, Jesrael Jacobs, who has won many dance accolades for his outstanding dance ability. Jacobs is magnificently supported by a group of equally talented and highly entertaining dancers.
Diary of a Dancer has been written, directed and produced by nationally renowned choreographer, Glenda Jones. More than 7000 people flocked to the CTICC in July this year, to watch her smash hit production, Dancers don't cry. Jones is confident that her latest production, Diary of a Dancer, promises to top any of her previous works.

MCQP, the Mother City's most outrageous event of the year launched its theme "Maid in China" in Cape Town on Friday night at popular nightspot Crew Bar.

The Fancy-dress themed party has always traditionally been known to kick-off the festive season and this year, its 18th consecutive event has been billed a Chinese extravaganza by organisers.

The "Maid in China" theme is a combination of all things Eastern, it's a play on the house maid theme as well as homage to the plastic mass-produced items we all know and recognize combined with Chinese culture.
Expect teams of marvelous moffie maids, dustpan dykes, hao kan heteros, sexy sequined straights, kung fu pandas, Bruce Lee Barbie's, or plastic fantastics. Creativity is the name of the game, and the more spectacular the outfit, the greater the fun. Some teams can be 20 people or more - we expect many Gayshas and boys in kihomos!
The entertainment line up is set to include live bands, disco music, house, psy-trance , the red carpet stage, VIP areas, wine bars, food stalls, tattoos and a myriad of uniquely MCQP-ish entertainment.
