South Africa’s renowned design, decor and lifestyle exhibition, Decorex once again took place at the CTICC. “This is the 12th consecutive year that the centre has partnered with the organisers of this event”, says General Manager for Commercial and Business Development, Megan Arendse.
“Decorex Cape Town, which was one of the first exhibitions to be hosted at the CTICC has grown phenomenally attracting in excess of 42 000 visitors to the centre. It’s exciting to see the evolution of this event over the past decade and to work with the event organisers on this signature event”, she adds.
“The first Decorex Cape Town Exhibition started with just 150 exhibitors and has successfully evolved to the point where it now attracts in excess of 300 exhibitors”, says Sian Steyn – General Manager: Decorex SA Portfolio. This year’s event which was themed Design Your Life for 2014 focused on the individual and provided a platform for visitors to explore their own creativity and find the lifestyle of their dreams.
“Part of the success formulae of this exhibition can be attributed to the continual introduction of exciting new elements and features such as the unexpected flash mob by the Caesarstone exhibitors, which featured world-famous saxophonist, Andrew Young and the La Traviata opera, sung by 19 Cape Town Opera and UCT opera singers.” adds Steyn. Check out the Caesarstone flash mob which has hit over 25 000 views.
“We have grown from strength to strength and as Decorex Cape Town has expanded, the CTICC has supported us and allowed us to facilitate a world class event in a world class venue. We look forward to the expansion of the CTICC so we too can grow in size and stature”, she adds.
