On the 21st of February 2018, South Africa’s former Finance Minister, Mr Malusi Gigaba, announced that Value Added Tax (VAT) will increase from 14% to 15% as of the 1st of April 2018.
This is the first increase in the country’s VAT rate since 1993. As a result, the CTICC will adjust VAT on its services and products with effect from the 1st of April 2018.
Clients who have already been issued with contracts will be supplied with an addendum in which the new VAT rate has been calculated.
Kindly note that all items served at the centre’s coffee shops (Coffee on the Square and Coffee on the Circle) as well as the public catering stations will carry the 15% VAT rate as of the 1st of April 2018.
