Q: Please share a bit about your background. We’d love to hear about where you’re from and the journey that brought you to the CTICC.
I started working at the CTICC under a labour broker in 2013 and was permanently employed by the CTICC in 2023 as a Waitron. After a year working as a Banqueting Waitron, I took the opportunity to apply for the Host vacancy, as I had the capabilities to host any event or function. I was then promoted to Banqueting Host.
The CTICC has created opportunities for every individual in the company — they encourage growth and provide all the necessary support structures to help employees improve their capabilities and skills.
Q: How long have you been an employee at CTICC?

My day starts by receiving all the relevant information regarding the event or function I am hosting. Every client has specific requirements, so it is up to my team and me to execute those requirements flawlessly and leave a positive, lasting impression on our clients.
Q: What inspired you to take up a career in this field?
My passion for working in the Food and Beverage industry.
Q: Can you share a memorable moment or achievement from your time at the CTICC?
In less than a year of my permanent employment, I received a Star Performer of the Year award.
Q: What do you find most rewarding within your role?

Q: Who inspires you and why?
Thokozani inspires me because he has been working at the CTICC for 20 years and is an exceptional mentor.

Reading novels and spending time with my family.
Q: What goals or aspirations do you have for your future within the company?
I see myself becoming one of the EXCO members within the next five years.
Q: What is your favourite part of your job or the CTICC?
The wonderful cultural diversity. We may not work in the same departments, but we are one big family ❤️ with one shared goal: to serve with integrity, passion and to create innovative events for all our clients.
Q: Which company value is most important to you and why?
Passion. Without passion for the hospitality industry, you will never survive. There are times when we have large functions running for two weeks without a break, and we keep going because we truly love what we do.
