Meet Caylee Sinclair, Marketing & Communications Officer

Bright, ambitious, and full of creative energy, Caylee Sinclair has quickly made her mark in the CTICC’s Commercial Department. As a Marketing & Communications Officer, Caylee brings a dynamic mix of passion, empathy, and professionalism to everything she does. From coordinating impactful campaigns to engaging with community partners, she embodies the CTICC’s spirit of “Leaving Lasting Impressions.” Her journey—from the Eastern Cape to the world of marketing and international travel—shows the power of curiosity, courage, and gratitude.

Q: Please share a bit about your background. We’d love to hear about where you’re from and the journey that brought you to the CTICC.
I grew up in the Eastern Cape and moved to the Western Cape after high school to study my BCom at Stellenbosch University. I completed my final year during Covid and later pursued my BPhil Honours in Marketing through IMM Graduate School.
After my studies, I decided to travel before starting my career and worked as an Au Pair in the USA for a year. This allowed me to earn money and explore, and afterward, I took two months to solo travel through Bali and New Zealand.
When I returned to South Africa, I came across the Marketing Graduate role at the CTICC. After a year of growth and learning, I was fortunate to be offered a permanent position as a Marketing & Communications Officer within my team!

Q: How long have you been an employee at the CTICC?
1 year and 9 months (as of 1 March 2024)

Q: What does a typical day in your role look like?
Every day is completely different! Some days I’m compiling reports, while others I’m out delivering Care Campaign donations to our Local Community Partners.

Q: What inspired you to take up a career in this field?
I wasn’t sure what I wanted to study at first, but I knew I had a passion for people and an interest in the psychology behind marketing and customer service. After my first year of BCom General—with some exposure to marketing and entrepreneurship—I decided to major in Marketing with Industrial Psychology as my second major.

Q: Can you share a memorable moment or achievement from your time at the CTICC?
Being hired permanently as the Marketing & Communications Officer after my Graduate year was a huge milestone for me.

Q: What do you find most rewarding within your role?
The most rewarding part is visiting the communities that our Local Community Partners serve and seeing firsthand the difference our donations make. It’s incredibly fulfilling to be part of that positive impact.

Q: Who inspires you and why?
My friends inspire me the most. I admire how they face challenges and always come out stronger—sometimes not gracefully, but always with humour and heart. Being surrounded by people like that pushes me to be better and do more.

Q: Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies or interests?
I love music, dancing, being outdoors, grabbing a drink with friends, and spending time cooking or baking.

Q: What goals or aspirations do you have for your future within the company?
My goal is to continue growing within the CTICC by building on my current skills and taking on new challenges that allow me to contribute more meaningfully to the team’s success.

Q: What is your favourite part of your job or the CTICC?
Definitely the team I work with—they make even the mundane tasks enjoyable!

Q: Which company value is most important to you and why?
Gratitude. I’m grateful to work in such a beautiful city, within a company that offers so much exposure and opportunity, and alongside colleagues who make every day easier.
