Meet Lusavela Mbem, Commercial - National Sales Executive

Q: Please share a bit about your background. We’d love to hear about where you’re from and the journey that brought you to the CTICC.
I’ve always had a strong interest in the events industry, which led me to study tourism. After completing my studies, I began working in the same field and, over time, was able to expand my knowledge further into the events side of the industry. The opportunity to continue travelling while growing my expertise has been incredibly rewarding. My journey has allowed me to merge my passion for events, client relationships and travel, creating a fulfilling and dynamic career path.

Q: What does a typical day in your role look like?
My day involves client management, sales strategy and event coordination — from securing bookings and finalising contracts to ensuring seamless event execution.

Q: What inspired you to take up a career in this field?
Creating memorable experiences, building strong client relationships and securing deals, while enjoying the thrill of problem-solving and bringing events to life.

Q: Can you share a memorable moment or achievement from your time at the CTICC?
A memorable achievement from my time at the CTICC was being recognised as a Star Performer in my first year.

Q: What do you find most rewarding within your role?
The most rewarding part of my role is cultivating strong client relationships, the excitement of closing sales, tackling challenges in real time and playing a key role in delivering successful, memorable events. On top of that, the opportunity to travel for events and the company rewards make the experience even more fulfilling.

Q: Who inspires you and why?
Chris Oyakhilome inspires me because of his strong faith, transformational leadership and ability to empower individuals to live their best lives through his teachings. His dedication to spreading positivity, love and spiritual growth encourages me to approach life with purpose, integrity and a commitment to making a difference.

Q: Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies or interests?
Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym, watching movies and running. These activities help me stay fit, relax and unwind.

Q: What goals or aspirations do you have for your future within the company?
My goals for the future within the company are to further develop my leadership skills, expand my client network and continue driving significant sales growth. I aspire to take on greater responsibilities, contribute to the company’s strategic direction and eventually mentor others to help them achieve their professional goals.

Q: What is your favourite part of your job or the CTICC?
The variety and fast-paced nature of the work keep it exciting and fulfilling, especially knowing that each event contributes to the success of both the company and our clients.
