Long after exhibition stands are dismantled and venue doors close, the impact of exhibitions continues to ripple through industries, businesses and communities.

This is the significance of Global Exhibitions Day 2026 and this year’s theme, “Exhibitions Drive Opportunities”. It is a recognition of the exhibitions industry not only as a platform for business events, but as a powerful contributor to economic growth, innovation and global connection.

At the CTICC, we see this impact every day. Exhibitions bring people, industries and countries together in ways that drive collaboration and unlock new possibilities. They create spaces where entrepreneurs find markets, organisations build relationships and industries engage with emerging trends and ideas.

For me, Global Exhibitions Day is also about recognising the people behind the industry. The teams who adapt quickly, think strategically and work collaboratively to bring these large-scale events to life. Their contribution often happens behind the scenes, but it remains central to the success of every exhibition experience.

As the global events industry continues to evolve, exhibitions remain important spaces for connection, learning and opportunity. They continue to shape industries, strengthen economies and create impact far beyond the venue itself.
